What is the right objective of a CV?

Your objective (the job you want) should be clear from the rest of your resume. Objective statements (e.g. Seeking a challenging role as a X in a progressive organization which supports long-term employee growth and development) is passé and a waste of important CV real estate. (Everyone wants a progressive job at an organization which will support your growth)

Instead of an objective, craft a well-written Summary or Profile statement outlining the skills, competencies and personality which make you a great fit to the role. This can include your Functional title… e.g. Experienced Web Developer with expertise working with business stakeholders, designers and marketing teams in crafting visually appealing and highly-functional sites and web applications. Possesses a solid understanding of full-cycle development processes using Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, HTML and CSS.
